EXPECT DELAYS IN DELIVERY OF CAREMART & CANTEEN
July 27, 2020
We are all aware of the ongoing outbreak of the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19), which was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. In response, both the President and the Governor have declared the pandemic a national and state emergency.
Although the situation continues to evolve rapidly, our CareMart/Canteen program administrators remain fully committed to pursuing the completion of our work in a safe, diligent, and reasonable manner under the current circumstances.
Unfortunately, due to current labor shortages in the CareMart/Canteen warehouse, going forward, deliveries will not be as they have been in the past on a routine basis. Delivery days and times of all items (except kitchen made hot meals and snack bags) will begin to vary greatly.
It is still our goal to have your order delivered as quickly as possible. Please do not send emails or contact the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office by telephone about an order that falls within the current delivery pattern: CareMart/Canteen warehouse deliveries begin on Tuesday each week and will be completed by the end of business Monday of the following week.
Excessive phone calls, emails, and correspondences will only delay orders from being delivered as quickly as possible.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any other issues that you may have. We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience during these unprecedented times.
The Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office CareMart website is a division of the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office Inmate Canteen. Our Goal is to provide a convenient method for the public to purchase gifts for the inmates within our facility, and CareMart is a new, innovative approach in providing you with this convenience. While visiting CareMart online you can choose from a variety of top name brands that we have put together in gift packages, along with other choices such as Fresh Favorites (Fresh Cooked Restaurant Style Meal), or you can provide them with additional clothing items that they may desire while incarcerated. We hope our efforts have made things more convenient for everyone, and we look forward to serving your needs.
